‘Round Island Race

The Fishers Island Yacht Club is pleased to be hosting the 70th Annual ‘Round Island Race on September 5th, 2026. Held by many to be the crowning glory of the summer racing season, the RIR is always held on the Saturday prior to Labor Day.

Registration closes on September 3rd, 2026, at 6 pm.

Course

All classes will start and finish just outside West Harbor, Fishers Island. The race will be around Fishers Island, about 15 miles. Course descriptions will be in the Race Instructions and class assignments and ratings will be shown in the Class Assignment Sheet.

Eligibility

The Round Island Regatta is open to yachts that submit a valid PHRF certificate with their entry, yachts in the International One Design, Watch Hill 15 and Ensign classes and by invitation.

Awards

Commodore David F. Harris Trophy for 1st FIYC boat entered in a PHRF class, First, Second and Third place trophies in every class, Island Cup Trophy for combined FIYC, Mason’s Island YC and Ram Island YC races, Wilkinson Trophy for fastest Corrected Time using PHRF for all boats.
