The Fishers Island Yacht Club is looking forward to hosting the 2026 IOD North American Championship the weekend of August 14-16, 2026.
We sail off West Harbor on the northern side of the island, a part of Fishers Island Sound, and just across from the Connecticut shore. Water conditions are generally smooth, and the current is quite predictable. The racing area is mostly free from interfering motorboats, rocks, and other treacherous obstructions along its shorelines.
Island hosts will offer accommodations to visiting sailors and those accompanying them. From the opening reception on Friday night to the closing awards on Sunday, we will make every effort to ensure our guests enjoy the best of island hospitality.

Racers! Registration for the IOD North Americans will begin May 1 and close July 15, 2026. Late entries may forfeit their invitation.
- Required fees are as follows:
Entry fee: $750 (non-refundable)
Damage deposit: $1000
Social package: $275 per crew person
FIYC members have graciously offered housing for visiting sailors and those accompanying them. Note that there are no hotels or inns on Fishers Island. If you have made your own housing arrangements, please let us know.

Social Package
Competing skippers and crews are required to purchase the NA’s Social Package, which will cover all organized social events at the Championship and other meals, except lunches, during the week. There is a grocery store and a market for lunch supplies. The Social Package fee is payable at registration.
